We were playing outside when dh informed us, "A very special box arrivied!"
The babies were so happy to get a BOX!! I couldn't get them off the box so I could open it, LOL! I finally got it open, and we LOVE the bubbles and Teddy Grahams--Thank YOU! After being outside then all the excitement, they are all napping now, even Colby.
September 12, 2005
This afternoon, after London woke up from his nap, Colby and London met. They sat and the couch and talked about their travels, then it was snack time. We all had Teddy Grams--YUM! We can't wait for the children to return tomorrow!
Colby meets London, another traveling teddy bear!
London is not on the road right now but you can read about his travels here.
September 14, 2005
After a VERY hard day yesterday, we had a much better day today! We played outside for a while, took a nap, then played inside with the babies. The Supreme Court hearings have been on during our Sesame Street time :(, but I found an Elmo video and now everyone is happy, even Colby and London!
September 15, 2005
Hi, Thursdays are Pamm's House Library Day. Some of the babies left early and others were sleeping when Colby and London got settled reading the special books Colby brought with him. London remembered to wear his reading glasses he got when he visited Giggles-N-Grins in Illinois.
September 16, 2005
Colby said his goodbyes today. London found out Colby was going to a cooler climate and gave Colby a pair of his (London's) socks. He will be missed by us all!

Hello everyone !!!!! We were sitting here doing our work when all of a sudden the mailman pulled in the driveway blowing his horn ! That means we have a package !!!!! Everyone was excited and my son, Christian ran out to get it. We received Colby !!! Since it is lunch time we will eat and then open the box. He is very quiet, so we think he is napping !!! Will be writing very shortly with pics !!!
Hello !!! been a busy week !! Colby is just fine and getting along well with the others. He shares well, but some of the others don't want to share him, lol.
Wednesday night Destiny shared her snack of cauliflower and ranch dip with Colby. He loved it ! Then she rocked him to sleep ! She wanted to know if Colby was her new pink bear, lol. I explained to her that Colby is just visiting and he will have to leave soon. So she hugged him tight . I think we will have to go to build a bear soon ! LOL She wants one of Colby's cousins !
September 28, 2005
Yesterday Landan gave one of his baseball caps to Colby since Colby likes them so much. Cobly also enjoys riding on the push cars. Destiny was pushing him all over the house. This kids aren't too thrilled to see him go soon, but they have had so much fun !! I think Destiny will miss Colby the most !!
October 1, 2005
We spent Colby's last day with us just having fun with him and saying good-bye. Everyone wanted pictures with him and Destiny didn't want him to go. She did take turns pretty well with him, but did get mad when the others wanted pictures with him. We will really miss him and can't wait to see pictures of all the new friends he gets to meet!

All the Children are very excited to meet Colby!! They take turns holding onto Colby and talking to him. They wanted to know if Colby remembered them from last time he came and visited LOL. We look at the goodies that were sent with Colby! Thank you, Laurie and Noah's Ark Preschool for all the things that you send! We love them! It's such a nice day out that we take Colby outside after nap. The kids take turns swinging with Colby and he even goes down the baby slide all by himself! The girls all are excited that he can do this. The girls play Ring-Around-The Rosie and boy does Colby get dizzy after a couple of times.
Thursday, October 6, 2005
Today we talk about fire safety/firefighters. Colby and the children learn how to stop, drop and roll in case of a fire. We read a book about firefighters. We also pretend to be firefighters. First, we need to get dressed, get in the fire truck, drive to where the fire is., make sure no one is in the house and then put the fire out. We make firefighter hats and badges that say Jr. Firefighter. Colby even gets his own Jr firefighter badge. The girls also put a firefighter hat on. It was rainy most of the afternoon so we played inside. Colby's favorite toys to play with were dress up, blocks and looking at books.
Friday, October 7, 2005
On Fridays, we go to the public library for the preschool story hour. Colby couldn't beleive all the books that were there. He helped the girls pick out some books to check out. The preschool story hour was about Racoons. Colby at first was scared of them but the girls held his hand through all the games, story time and by art time colby was back to himself. He even enjoyed a treat with the kids afterward. On the way back Colby rode in the wagon with the babies and soon was fast asleep.
Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9, 2005
Colby had a relaxing weekend with me! We did some errands and a lot of housework. Colby was starting to get bored but Jake-e the cat decided to play with Colby a while. He really missed the kids and couldn't wait for Monday to come.
Nana's Nest - Pennsylvania
October 17, 2005
Colby arrived very early this morning in very good condition. The children
were eager to get the bear out of the box. I cut all the tape and let B open
the lid and what a surprise!!!!!!! Colby was back for a second visit. B
grabbed him and hugged him just like an old friend. T and R were happy to see
him again also. Colby was very happy to see familiar faces and some new ones
too. Thanks, CeCe for letting Colby return for a second visit. The children
have lots of fun things planned for Colby this week and we will keep
Stephanie, thank you so much for all the wonderful surprises! The children
did puppet shows all afternoon and enjoyed the Teddy Bear cookies for
snack. We are saving the coloring book for tomorrow. Thanks for everything!
Sheron and the children at Nana's Nest
October 18, 2005
Today after Circle Time we put on our jackets and went for a long walk around town to look at fall colored leaves and some Halloween decorations.
October 19, 2004
Wednesday is library day at Nana's Nest. At 10:00 all the children began to gather their library bags to head out to the library. Colby remembered going to the library with us before. Everyone in the children's department was
so happy to see Colby in Hanover again. After the library, we went for a long
walk before a healthy lunch.
October 20, 2005
Our project today was to get "Happy Boxes" together to send to children in
Iraq that lives in an orphanage there. The daycare children and their
families have been collecting pencils, tablets, markers, crayons, paper,
scissors, glue, lip gloss, toothbrushes and toothpaste, and soap to name
some of the items. Today everyone's parents came to help sort everything and
make "Happy Boxes". Also included were some goodies and a small stuffed
animal. Miss Sheron will take everything to the PO on Saturday morning.
Colby acted as supervisor for this project and said that he felt proud to be helping with such an important project.
October 21, 2005
Happy Birthday to Ryan! Today Ryan is 3 years old and his mommy brought everyone Kids Action Meals from Wendy's for lunch. Colby enjoyed his chicken nuggets and fries and he drank all of his milk. It was a sad day when everyone had to say goodbye to Colby. Colby was very sorry to leave Nana's Nest but is very much looking forward to visiting Miss Dawn and her daycare children and then returning home to CeCe in Virginia for a rest!
Lamb Home Child Care - Illinois
October 27, 2005
I just wanted everyone to know that when we arrived home after kindergarten pick-up, Colby was waiting for us. As of this moment, we haven't opened the box yet, as we're trying to make it thru lunch first. I'll check back in as soon the kids open Colby up. Today is dance class, so I think that Colby may be taking a class this afternoon.
You were so generous, Sheron. Thank you! The kids are absolutely thrilled. We're having our Halloween party here tomorrow, so we're going to save the treat bags to take home tomorrow. The kids are dying to get into the playdoh, but we're going to wait until next week because A***** just went down for a nap, so that wouldn't be fair to her. We read the cow book with Colby, and they loved it. Right now, M***** & C******* are playing frisbee with Colby's frisbee. Next, we're going to go downstairs and see if we have a dance outfit for Colby to wear to dance class later and see if we can find a Halloween costume for her to wear tomorrow for our party. I love my gift, Sheron, thank you! Ashlee wants us to hang it outside by the front door. She was pretty upset with me that we didn't get our decorations out yet.
November 9, 2005
Well, other than Colby's first full day here for our Halloween party on Oct 27, this has been Colby's first adventure with the entire daycare. I'm happy to say that everyone is doing so much better here and was VERY excited that Colby could come out and join our day! After the big fight ensued over who was going to hold Colby first, I decided it was a great idea to read our book about feelings, called "The Way I Feel" by Janan Cain and talk about how it's ok to be excited, but fighting isn't the answer. Colby enjoyed this talk very much and agreed. We also read Colby's typing cow book. We then took the time to review our map and see where Colby has traveled this year. The kids were very amazed that Colby had gone to so many places! Colby sat in on school today. We made a surprise cup and sang, "Pop Goes the Weasel" and did our coloring sheets and sang our feelings song to the tune of "Frere Jacques".
Tomorrow there is no school, so Colby is now resting and getting ready for a very busy day. We have already packed a Chicago Cubs dress for Colby and C******* is hopefully bringing over a Chicago Bulls jersey for Colby to take home. Mr. Ed wants to send something Chicago White Sox, but we're still looking. Mr. Ed has put most of the White Sox stuff into a World Series collage that he will more than likely sleep with under his pillow for many years to come.
November 10, 2005
Colby certainly had a very busy day here. There was no school today, so Colby had 8 friends to hang out with all day. For most of the morning, we played & played. C******* brought Colby a Michael Jordan jersey to take home & wear. Colby really enjoyed the Amelia Bedelia story we read, and then Colby was tired, so he took a nap with A*****. She was very happy to have a special friend to cuddle with. It was a good thing that Colby napped because then it was time to get dressed for dance class. I'm sorry CeCe. Apparently, my girls are turning Colby into a girl when they want. Ashlee dressed Colby in tights & leotard, and Ashlee & C*** brought Colby to Ms. Lynn's tap/ballet/tumbling class. Colby was excellent and even got a sticker from Ms. Lynn. Friday will be yet another busy, busy, day because there's still no school and there will be a full house again. Colby will be going back home to Virginia on Saturday. Thank you, CeCe for the chance to enjoy Colby once everyone returned healthy here.
November 11, 2005
Phew, what a busy day Colby had. The house was again full of kids as there was no school. Happy Veterans Day!!! Kaylyn started out the day by making chocolate chip pancakes for everyone. Colby did some playing with the kids and then went down to the classroom for a school. We are still learning about feelings and made a Scaredy Cat, a teardrop, and made a book about feelings. Colby helped with our alphabet, shape, color, & number review, too.
It was also a sad day here, for everyone as they knew today was the last day they'd have here with Colby. Colby got lots of hugs & kisses today.
Thank you all for allowing our LHCC to enjoy such a wonderful visit with Colby!!!!!
November 14, 2005
We dropped Colby off this afternoon and he is on his way home to Virginia!!!! CeCe, you can expect him back Wed or Thurs.
