Preschool Curriculum ProgramsThe question is should you do some sort of preschool activities with the children in your care............. and, if so where do you begin? Many providers create their own preschool curriculums either from their own resources at home (preschool curriculum theme books) or from materials they find online or a combination of both. There are many places to find great preschool materials online. Many of them free. One of my favorites is of course my own Step By Step Preschool Theme Pages. Pinterest is another great place to get ideas. The preschool theme sites listed here are all pages I visit frequently for ideas.Organizing a preschool program can be very time consuming so many child care providers opt to purchase a packaged preschool curriculum kit. "It's $15 a month to download 4 weeks of lesson plans and related materials (worksheets, games, songs, readiness activities.) I like it because it is theme based and it features a letter of the week. "Carol's Affordable Curriculum has far exceeded my expectations. I order the Jumping Kangaroo and the Tiny Tots. Everything that I need is included- and you get a lot of stuff. My kids love it! I like how both of the curriculums coordinate together. My kids have learned so much from using her curriculum. Her curriculum covers a wide range of topics. "I ordered their materials and must say it was far below my expectations. What I received what a yellow folder with several zeroxed copies of possible projects -- they were very light (obviously copies of copies), the alphabet letters were strange -- for the letter A they chose the word "airplane" the "a" sound is not even used in that word, the phonogram "ai" is what creates an "a" sound, very poor choice. Overall it was most certainly not worth the $22.45 I paid for it -- Finally, most of the stuff I received, I could have downloaded myself from various "free" pre-school sites. "For anyone out there looking for an easy curriculum, this is it! It shows me actually what to do each day, gives you a shopping list of what materials to have on hand for that month, bulletin board ideas for that month, and worksheets referenced as part of daily curriculum. I am not trying to sell the product, but I am just passing the word along. Preschool Palace just made my life so much easier!"
