Thome (as in Jim Thome, named by ODD) came from US Cellular Field. He was a gift from one of our of our daycare families because we gave them our Sox tickets that we couldn't use. He typically sits in our "sports room" and is available to love and watch games. We are a HUGE sports family, most of them are Sox fans. I am the only Cubs fan. We coach most of our daycare children in tball/coach pitch, so I'd say anything sports related would be awesome.
I haven't told the daycare children yet that Thome is leaving for a special adventure, but my children Kaylyn (almost 14),Brian(10) ,&Ashlee(7) are sooooooooooooo excited. They will be helping me get Thome's things ready for his trip.

Hey everyone Thome got here safe and sound. Tex was eager to meet a new friend. Ophelia, Macie, Gaven, Seth and Logan were all eager to open up his box. They really loved their treats and the movie. Thank you from Ms Trish.

We had a slow day today, Logan and Macie played with me and made me dinner. So far everyday Macie makes sure I have my blanket. Miss Trishs camera batery died out so she promised to get some better pics later.....On Monday I get to meet Bethanee and Ethan and will get to play some more...Thome in Texas

Today Thome met Bethanee and Ethan. Ethan hugged me and hld me all day long and I even got to sleep with Ethan. He held me very close.

Tuesday was a very quiet day. Mrs Trish started packing me up and Tex wanted to go on my journey also but Logan said he had to stay here.....I'm headed to Maryland with some treats to Ms Andi's house and some history on Texas to take home to my family in Illinois......

We are having a blast in New York!! The kids here were all so excited and happy to see me!! On Friday we made Pockets and put Wockets in them.. just wait until you see mine!! It is soo cute!! Miss Megan then read "There's a Wocket in my Pocket" by Dr. Seuss. After all the other kids went home on Friday I rode bikes with Jordan and Michael. Then we had a Pajama party! It was so much fun! This weekend we celebrate Coulumbus Day so there is no school today.. Instead I went to Jordan and Michaels grandmas, while their mom went and ran some errands and did some shopping.. Tomoorow all the kids will be back and i cant wait to see them.. Missing my family and thinking about home.. I will be back soon!!

Today was Thomes last day with us.. he heads to Pa tomorrow morning. The kids here will miss him fiercly - hes spent many nights bunking with my 2 sons Jordan and Michael, and this week his days were filled learning about fire safety. We all just ahd a great visit with him and the week has flown by much too quickly. I'm sending this journal entry tonight as Thome is busy packing up all his things and theres just so much more he wants to do before he leaves ny.. he send his love to his family and to the next stop.. hes eager to meet you all!

Thome arrived at Nana's Nest FDC in Hanover, early morning. The children were excited to open the box and meet Thome. Thome was happy to be let out of the box to meet his new friends. Nana and the children would like to thank Miss Katrina and everyone at Little Stars FDC for the goodies.

Today Nana's Nest is working on fire safety. Thome practiced STOP, DROP, ROLL and Stay low and go and Get out, stay out! WHEW! What a lot to remember. Thome went home to Kaitlyn's house to spend the night.

Today we took Thome for a long walk around our city. We stopped to read
several plaques in the square telling us about the History of Hanover. It was a beautiful day.

Thome woke up today to the excited voices of the daycare children. Nana's
Nest is going to the fire station today. What a great time we had. The fireman showed us the fire trucks and ambulance. They showed us where they sleep and eat. The fireman gave us all a firehat. Later in the day Thome joined Kaleigh and Caleb for music therapy. That was fun and Thome learned some new songs.

Thome spent the weekend with Nana and Pappy resting up for his trip to
Someplace Special in Virginia. The children arrived Monday very happy to see
that Thome was still here but sad to know that he would be leaving the next day. Thome and the children spent the day working on decorations for the
Halloween party.

More Halloween crafts were made by Thome and the children today. They made
little eyes and mouth on a dried lima bean for ghosts and glued them in
the windows on a picture of a scary house. They were very cute. Before
naptime all the children took turns saying goodbye to Thome for the last time.
We hope to see him again.

Today we baked cupcakes and pumpkin bread. We decorated the cupcakes with Halloween M&M's. Thome like eating them as well as the kids. We then went for a walk, to run some of the energy we had off.

Today is Halloween. Thome stayed at CeCe's house and gave out candy. Not to many kids came by. Thome and Andy ate more then they gave out.

Today was a laid back day, we hung out and played outside. The dog Bo is somewhat wild. Said by good bye's to some of my friends here.
