Monday September 10, 2007

Benjamin surprised all the children at Nana's Nest by arriving a day early. Nana and the children tore the box open quickly to let Benjamin out. You see, Benjamin had visited Nana's Nest before. Two years ago Benjamin came to Hanover for the first time and several of the same children are still here. We had a wonderful reunion. Benjamin remembered Brady and Kaitlyn and they had a big group bear hug!

Hi Dianna,

I gave Benjamin your hug and he said, "Right back at ya!" He arrived in very good condition and was happy to get out of that box. He is enjoying his stay here at Nana's Nest. Dianna, we all wanted to thank you and all the children at Nanny's House Daycare for all the wonderful things that you sent us. I think the puzzle was the favorite! We are planning some fun things for the rest of the week and then we will be sending Benjamin off to Cheryl's Childcare in NC. Thanks again, Dianna!

Benjamin spent Monday night at Brady's house. What a grand time they had. Brady's daddy took them out in the boat to do some fishing. Benjamin says that he has never fished before with a pole. He usually uses his paw. Later they went home and had honey bread for bedtime snack. This morning Brady and Benjamin came to daycare ready to work. The children made booklets about farm animals. Benjamin wants to take his home just like the other children are doing. It rained all day today in Hanover so we had to play indoors. We made an obstacle course using the balance beam and the cones. Kayleigh, Faith, Caleb and Austin took turns helping Benjamin around the obstacle course. It was great fun. Benjamin says to send a hug to mommy Miss Dianna and say hi to all the children at Nanny's House Daycare. He is having fun and says he will be coming home soon.

Wednesday, September 12, 2007

Today is a busy day at Nana's Nest. Several of the children have therapy. Benjamin learned to say "I love you" in sign language. Benjamin spent Tuesday night with Kaitlyn. They had a good time talking into the wee hours of the night.

Thursday, September 13, 2007

Today is a beautiful day in Hanover, PA. It was Sydney's turn to take Benjamin home to spend the night. They returned early and ready for some play. Benjamin loved playing with the children in the caterpillar. We all thought that maybe it was a good idea for Benjamin NOT to get into the sand box but he had a grand time beating Austin at tic-tac-toe.

Friday, September 14, 2007

All the children are leaving for the weekend and Benjamin is prepared to spend a quiet, restful weekend with Nana and Pappy. Everyone will return Monday to say goodbye to Benjamin. We will be putting him back in the box and mailing him to Cheryl's Childcare in NC.

*Thank you to Miss Dianna and all of our good friends at Nanny's House Daycare. We have enjoyed having Benjamin visit with us. It was so nice of you to share.

They also gave Benjamin plenty of love and looked thru all of the wonderful things that Benjamin brought with him about his travels. I have attached a few pictures that we took today. Benjamin arrived here late yesterday afternoon. We let him rest up from his travels and the children were all here first thing this morning ready to greet him. This is Benjamin's second visit to us and it was sooooo nice to see him again. Two of the children are still here who met Benjamin two years ago! They were very young at the time and are now preschoolers but they sure remember Benjamin as they both took a special liking to him. The children invited Benjamin to join us for Circle Time. We are learning all about Fire Safety this week. They asked Benjamin if he would go to the Library with us tomorrow and Benjamin is very excited although he is a bit worried because he heard that it's Pirate Day at the library and he feels a little scared.

Benjamin went to StoryTime at the library with us today! He wore his new Orange Itsy Bitsy Spider t-shirt that we got for him. He saw that some of the children were dressed as pirates but it wasn't as scary as he thought. He had a lot of fun and also saw a really big pumpkin outside when we were leaving. He was really tired when we got back home and so he took a nap with Sascha today. When he got up he had some Animal Crackers with the children.

Thursday, October 4, 2007

Benjamin had a fun day in daycare with us today. After preschool, where we learned all about the Number 2, we went outside and played in our playground and in the leaves! The kids had a blast burying Benjamin in the leaves and then squealing with delight when he would jump out! Benjamin was really wore out and napped with Benjamin today!

Friday, October 5, 2007

Today we are packing Benjamin up and saying our goodbyes to Benjamin. We would like to thank Cheryl for her gifts for our daycare and we would like to thank Dianna for generously sharing Benjamin with us. We will miss him!

Thursday, October 11, 2007

Today was a rainy cold dreary day, but we tried to make the best of it. We played some Fire Safety games and talked about another bear friend Smokey Bear. We had hot chocolate with our morning snack. Later in the morning while Miss Colleen was making lunch we snuggled in and watched The Land Before Time movie. All the kids just loved telling Benjamin which dinosaur was their favorite. Benjamin wanted everyone at home to know that he loves and misses them, but he's really enjoying his stay at Kid's Korner. Jayson has been letting Benjamin sleep in Mr. Peaches spot in his bed. They have become very good friends. More adventures tomorrow!!
