Timber started getting ready for his adventure this week. Yesterday the children helped him decide what to wear on his trip.

Today he joined everyone for singing bear songs at Circle Time. Then he posed so all the boys and girls could draw his picture. He also played outside on the slide and swings with the children. After we came in, we read a Corduroy book and “Brown Bear, Brown Bear” and then we found some fun bear song videos on YouTube.

Tomorrow he will finish packing his box, with the help of the preschoolers. They are excited to see him off and wondering what adventures he will have.

Timber has had a great time with us, he has learned that the weather in Asheville, NC can be sunny and warm one day and cool and crisp the next day this time of year. We took Timber to the Asheville Mall on Friday and bought him some gifts, he has a new bandanna (we call it a do rag) he got a pot of Berry Special flowers and a passport for his travels. Timber would like to see if he can take his passport to other Build A Bears and have them stamp his past port so he can remember where he has been. Timber has been a little lonely this weekend and is looking forward to the kids coming back tomorrow. He will be sure to connect with you all again this coming week before he has to leave.

We have been busy playing with Timber and showing him what we do here. We have told him stories about North Carolina . We took him for a ride today to show him our town, we could get out and take picture because of the rain, I know he had a good time. We have been busy making sure he gets his face and hands washed and a good nights sleep for his travels to Caution! Kids At Play Child Care in Maryland . We will be posting pictures tomorrow when he leaves.

Timber is on his way to Maryland. We had such a good time with him. The kids all gave him a goodbye hug individually then a big group hug. Last night Timber and I had a conversation about his next adventure. Timber had been begging all week to take a ride on my son’s motorcycle, so we put him on it and he decided that it was cool. Timber told me this morning that instead of him traveling in a box he wanted to ride the red motorcycle to his next stop. After a little bit of coaxing and explaining about the weather, and him getting wet on the road he decided to hop in the box. We were all sad to see him go, but we know that he has more new friends to make.

Thank you Ellen Cain and your Child Care for sharing Timber with us. We hope he had a good time here, we sure did.

Timber arrived late on Saturday. I opened his box to make sure he was ok and then he has waited patiently for the kids to arrive today! At preschool time we opened him again and the kids were so excited to see him and he was so excited to see them and meet them all. I will post more and some pictures after we've had a chance to have more fun with him.

Timber arrived in Millersville, Maryland over the weekend. The kids were so excited to open him up on Monday and "show him the ropes" at Caution! Kids At Play Child Care. He has enjoyed our preschool time - we talked about apples this week and read the story "The Seasons of Arnold's Apple Tree" - we guessed how many seeds were in an apple, we made crescent apples for a special snack, we started making our own seasons book but haven't had a chance to finish it yet and we had an apple test testing. . . Red Delicious won out.

Timber LOVED watching our show and tell and seeing everything our friends brought in this week.

We also read the story "Mary Wore Her Red Dress" then we spent time fingerpainting with red, yellow and blue paint and had fun finding out all the other colors we could make with those colors. Today we each wore our favorite piece of clothing today and created our own book. Timber is so excited to bring his with him to share with everyone. I know our daycare friends all read theirs over and over this afternoon waiting for moms and dads to come for pick ups.

More to come about his beary special visitor today and his adventures tomorrow!

    Thanks!

Jana - Thank you so much for scheduling Timber and Cooper to both be in Maryland on the same route stop. This year (as you know) Dawn and I decided to let them have a play date at each daycare. I'm sure her day will be as exciting as ours was today.

The kids were so excited that Timber had a play mate today and that he got to meet another bear on The Teddy Bear Express. They both enjoyed posing for their pictures for our books. Timber created one to take home with him titled "Timber Wore His Green Bow Tie" and Cooper made one titled "Cooper Wore His Blue Pants" - they all turned out SO cute! They both had fun reading our Weekly Reader together, creating potato head creatures, helping friends put together puzzles and playing our color memory matching game. They both took nice naps and then started packing things to take to Ms. Dawn's Family Child Care for their play date tomorrow. I know Cooper is going to be mailed off soon so Timber thought it would be nice to take Teddy Grahams with him for them to share tomorrow with Ms. Dawn's friends.

We can't wait to hear about all their fun together tomorrow.

Timber and Cooper headed to Build A Bear Workshop on Saturday to get their passports stamped from their visit to Maryland. Boy, were they excited to see all those stuffed friends there!

Maisie took him home for the night. Timber had a busy evening at the Roxbury household. First, Timber got to go in the car to the airport where we picked up Maisie's daddy. We got to see planes take off and land. Then, we headed out to dinner for a pizza party! Maisie made sure Timber ate all his pizza before getting a cookie for dessert. Once we got home, Timber was a big help at bath time. Maisie and Timber helped Benjamin, Maisie's little brother, get a bath before heading to bed. Timber got to sleep in Maisie's big girl bed!

Timber went out shopping with CeCe, Annie, Maisie, and Payton. We went to BJ’s wholesale club to buy veggies, and were not happy that they did not have peas! We then went to Fran’s cake and cake store to buy items to make candy. We then went to Fair Oaks Mall and visited Build-a-Bear, where CeCe bought me a phone, so I can call home or any of the other daycare’s I have traveled too. We ate lunch at the mall, yummy! What a treat.

Rylan and Braden took Timber home for the weekend. Timber got to go with Rylan and Braden to their grandparents house on Friday night where he road on the tractor, had pizza for dinner, and took a walk around the neighborhood. Thursday, November 3, 2011

Timber had a rest day so he was ready to meet all of the kids.

    Friday, November 4, 2011

Timber was introduced to the whole clan today. They loved how big and fluffy he was. We looked at all of the pictures and talked about where he had been. Next week we will be learning about nutrition so Timber will be learning how to eat so that he may grow up big and strong.

Saturday and Sunday, November 5 and 6, 2011

Over the weekend Timber had a nice rest and was able to get ready for all of the new information he is going to learn this week. He also got to watch the snow fall but he realized it is very cold here in Utah and he is not a huge fan of that.

    Tuesday, November 8, 2011

Timber and kids learned about the food pyramid. The food pyramid is important to learn about because it tells us how much of a certain type of food we need to help our bodies grow and build strong muscles. We ate grapes and colored our daily plate and food pyramid pictures. He also got to watch the kids cut out pictures of Vegetables.

Timber arrived today! He was so excited to meet the children but they were a little hesitant so he slowly came out of his box while everyone touched and pet him. He was very happy that the children warmed up so quickly because he was ready to play! Timber got to play a little bit when he arrived but it was nap time so he quietly watched everyone sleep (he wasn’t tired cause he slept the whole way to our center). During the afternoon, everyone took turns holding and hugging Timber while they played. It was a tiring day but Timber was not done playing when he met his friends overnight! Timber stayed at the center during the night because he had to keep an eye on our friends Boo, Mr. Edgar, and Bee Bo. Boo is the centers chinchilla, Mr. Edgar is the rabbit, and Bee Bo is the bear who teaches sign language.

    Friday, November 18, 2011

Friday was a busy day for Timber, more, more and more playing! The children made Turkey Headbands while Timber watched and then we all took a big group picture that turned out so cute! Timber also got a chance to dance with the children to Elmo and other fun songs. He had so much fun shaking and wiggling with everyone! After dancing, Timber also had the chance to play dress-up. Timber liked to wear the hats that everyone put on and off of him!

    Monday, November 21, 2011

Over the weekend, Timber got a little bit of rest but he did say that Boo, Mr. Edgar, and Bee Bo are definite Party Animals!! Monday, Timber had a gift come for him. He was given an Eagles T-Shirt to wear representing the football team in the area. He wore it all day and didn’t want to take it off because the Eagles won on Sunday! Today Timber helped us to get better acquainted Bee Bo. Some of the children were afraid of Bee Bo because he is a BIG bear. But, Timber explained to all of the children that Bee Bo is just as nice and fun as he is and no one should be afraid of him. Thanks to Timber, all of the children now love and play with Bee Bo all the time. During the day, Timber also got a chance to play kitchen with the children. He loved that the children were giving him food and drinks!

    Tuesday, November 22, 2011

Today, Timber had another big day! He watched the children make turkey feathers out of their hands and then create a turkey with them. Timber also enjoyed story time while we read a Thanksgiving book and Eric Carle books! Timber also liked the idea of going into the hall and being able to run up and down the ramp for exercise. It’s been really rainy this week and Timber and the children are getting very cramped in the classroom. In the afternoon, Timber got to show the children some of the fun games Boo, Mr. Edgar, Bee Bo, and himself play at night. Boo and Mr. Edgar came into the classroom and got to play with the children, Bee Bo, and Timber. Everyone had so much fun!

Today Timber got to play all day with the kids as everyone got ready for their long Thanksgiving weekend! We had a low number of children because vacations started early but Timber had fun with the kids that were there. The kids had fun showing Timber another way of making a Turkey during art and how to play with the blocks and read books. Timber really liked reading books with all the kids because it was calming and relaxing before the exciting weekend.

    Thursday, November 24, 2011 to Sunday, November 27, 2011

While everyone was at home for the long Thanksgiving weekend, Timber decided to stay with Mr. Edgar, Boo, and Bee Bo at the center. They had their own version of Thanksgiving and played all weekend long!

    Monday, November 28, 2011

Timber was so excited to see everyone today! He told us about his fun weekend with everyone and how they played all weekend long. Timber then got to learn about circles and was walking around with the children finding circles on everything. Timber also got to participate in a program called Stretch-N-Grow! This is an exercise program that comes to the center and teaches the children how to stretch and exercise so they can grow to be big and strong. Timber had so much fun that he was ready for nap!

    Tuesday, November 29, 2011

What a fun day, Timber had the opportunity to be pampered by the children while they fed him during kitchen play. The children loved giving Timber different drinks and foods after they made it all. Timber also had a chance to play with the children passing the balls back and forth. The children also showed Timber how to kick and toss the ball to our friends. Everyone had such a great time!

    Wednesday, November 30, 2011

Today is Timbers last day with us. We are all sad to see him leave but he is so excited to go home and tell everyone about his experience everywhere. Timber got lots of extra hugs and kisses all day long and was played with even more than other days. It was finally a sunny day, so the children went out to play while Timber stayed in to take a nap. He was so tired from all the playing in the morning he needed the rest to prepare for his trip. We are going to miss Timber but enjoyed having him!
