Ruby Bear has arrived in Pennsylvania!!

Wow, the kids are so excited to meet me! They all wanted a turn to hug me. Miss Jenn explained that I may be a little afraid if they all are so loud and try to grab me. After they calmed down, we sat down to listen to a story about a bear just like me – Corduroy! I love that story. I spent the whole morning playing games and listening to the children read to me. It was exhausting – I was so glad when nap time came.

Today was much calmer. The children and I enjoyed learning about the new topic – the farm. I sat at the table with the children as they worked on their art project. Playing outside was so much fun – I got to ride in the car and even help to “build” their playhouse. I guess it needed some work because they were all using drills and hammers. I got to help too!

Today the children had music class with Miss Melanie. She had so many instruments for the children to play (the drums were loud, but they really had fun!). They are learning to play the handbells and boy did they sound good. Miss Melanie loves to play the guitar and she sang some fun songs. I liked the end of class when the children turned off the lights and used flashlights. I liked watching the flashes of light on the ceiling.

Today was Teddy Bear Day! Oh, I got to meet so many new friends. We all enjoyed playing games, dancing and reading stories about other bears.

We watched a big dump truck come in and dump a HUGE pile of woodchips. We all wished we could go jump into it! Today we talked about planting seeds. We went outside (it’s been 80’ this week – unheard of for October) and planted seeds into cups that we decorated. Today I got to ride on the bouncey ball – that was fun – I went really high!

Oh, the kids are going to be so excited tomorrow. Mr. Tim finished the new playground today. The children are going to love the new slides and climbers. I was so glad that I got to be the first one down the new slide. It went so fast. The new woodchips are so bouncy.

I was right! The kids LOVED the new playground. I got dizzy watching them go round and round. They ran up the steps and down the slide, and ran around to the steps again. I was so tired after playing today. Will naptime be here soon? I just realized – I have to say goodbye to the children today. I have had so much fun with the children at A Step Ahead, but I am also looking forward to meeting my new friends at Lamb Home Child Care. Thank you for letting me come visit!

Thank you Someplace Special for the bubbles, we had fun chasing bubbles outside today. The children made sure Ruby had a scarf to keep warm.

We have had a wonderful time with Ruby this week. Ruby was able to meet Ryan on Friday; he came to childcare just to meet her. She played house with the kids, did puzzles; she did have to sit on a book to see over the table, (the boys helped her with her puzzle). Played in Emma’s “fort” with her. On Friday she went into Aubree’s locker and crawled into her backpack to go to school with her. Even Ruby’s traveling companions got in on the fun. On Friday it was Kyle’s birthday so she was able to go to his birthday party on Saturday.

We dressed Ruby in her New Minnesota Wild Outfit before she left today. Before taking Ruby to the post office we stopped by church to drop off our shoebox gifts, we made sure she had a scarf on to keep her warm and buckled her in her own booster seat to keep her safe on the drive. After stopping at church we tucked her in her box and took her to the post office to send her on her way.
