After reading The Snowy Day during circle we have a "snowball" fight in the room using marshmallows. The rule for this activity is that you must stay seated. You can only use the "snowballs" that land within your reach. Afterwards we fix hot chocolate in the room and use the unused marshmallows for the hot chocolate. While the kids are drinking we read other snow related books.

In your scarf and funny hat.
Orange carrot for a nose,
Frosty head and frosty toes.
Little snowman, be my friend.
Please don't melt till winter's end.
Make a snowman, oh so tall.
Place a hat upon his head.
Give him buttons that are red.
Use some coal to make his eyes.
You can do it if you try!
Next, he needs a carrot nose.
Where will we get one of those?
Make a mouth and he'll be done.
Making snowmen is such fun!
And I see a place
That's covered all over
With white, frosted lace.
But it changed overnight.
And now it's a
Glistening, magical white!
In a place where I'd freeze,
If I didn't wear sweaters
And boots to my knees.
From their heads to their toes!
For I'd never be happy
With frost on my nose.
Just love to be out
In the cold, wintry drifts
As the snow swirls about.
They smile through a storm.
They laugh when it freezes,
But they cry when it's warm!
Put on lots of snow, and pat it all so neat.
Then make a round ball, and put it up on top.
The the sun will come out, and make the snowman hot.
Big and round, big and round,
Sun is shining on him

He's all gone, he's all gone.
Out comes the sun and melts his hat. (touch head)
