Step By Step Child Care Setup!!

Welcome to Step By Step Child Care! I live in a 4-bedroom ranch in NE Ohio. Won't you please come in.....

This is one of two magnetic signs I have on my van.
Visit MagneticSigns.com for more info.

This is where my daycare parents enter in the morning. I'm a Professionally Certified Type B Family Child Care Home in the state of Ohio.
I can care for up to 6 children at any one time. No more than 3 of these can be under the age of 2. In the picture on the right, you can see my
sign in sheet. I keep these on a clipboard that I set inside an office mailbox that I've attached to my wall next to my front door. I am required
to have all parents sign in their children in the morning and sign them out when they return to pick them up.

This is a picture of the inside of my closet which is located next
to my front entrance door. I use an over the door rack and clip a
child's name card to each shelf. Also, inside the closet (which you
cannot see in this picture) I have additional racks for additional
children. I have 10 children currently enrolled in my daycare, 6 are
full-time and 4 are drop-in only. I believe the racks I have inside
my closet are made for video storage. They hold VHS tapes and screw
right into the wall. I utilize all of these shelves to keep the children's
spare clothing in. I require each family to keep a minimum of one set
of spare clothing here in case of accidents. I also will keep extra
diapers here. You can see in another picture of my changing table (below)
where I keep the diapers I use on a daily basis.

The pictures above and below are different views of my livingroom, one of several rooms I use for daycare.
It is fairly good size, about 15 x 15. We use this room for tv and video viewing, music, circle time, and
napping. You can see the front closet in the above photo where I keep the children's spare clothing (see above).

This is the baby changing area (pic to the right). I love this because the pad on top
is attached in the back with velcro so I can remove it to make my house more like
a home and not a daycare. The top drawer of this dresser contains baby wipes
(which I supply as part of my daycare fee) and labeled medicines for all of the
children. This drawer is kept locked, of course. In the middle drawer I keep diapers
for all (see below). And the bottom drawer I keep toys the children can access easily.

Our little Time Out chair is in a corner in the livingroom.
This also doubles as a little reading corner.
